Certain items you could just tell will sell out a lot quicker than others especially in smaller sizes. And wth, now they're offering the chambray in XS? Could have saved me some tailor fees. So popular they even made a women's version: http://www.jcrew.com/AST/Browse/WomenBrowse/Women_Shop_By_Category/shirtstops/casualshirts/PRDOVR~15008/15008.jsp

Supposed to hear back about the job today. Oh boy. I hope I get it!

Do you have to wear all J. Crew while you're working? That was the one thing that bugged me about the clothing store where I worked for a couple of years. It was sometimes tough finding things I liked, and we were required to stay with the season. Even though we got a good discount, sometimes it felt like I was just working to afford the clothes I had to wear to work.

It's out of my basket too. Damn, that's the one I wanted the most out of everything I'm waiting to get.

Nah. As long as your clothes are unbranded and "looks" J. Crew you're good. But with that sweet discount, you can't really help but to kop mad J. Crew. Good luck Andrew!

How much of a discount are we talking? I could squeeze in an evening or two of work into my summer schedule! lol

I'm just not feeling that seashore madras - what's so good about it? Is it one of those items that looks better in person or do you just like the color combinations in the photo?

Also for those who have tried them, which would you prefer: the vintage, grey or indigo chambray workshirt?

Do you think they'd hire an old fart like me? I'm preserved well for my age.

Also, would I have to sell women's clothing, or could I just work in men's? Aside from helping women in and out of their clothing, I know next to nothing about women's clothing.

In the Grove (Los Angeles) store menswear is upstairs and women's downstairs. Same dudes always working the men's section upstairs. The Seattle store was one level but it also seemed sectioned off with one guy working the men's section. I have yet to see a woman working in a men's section (non outlet) but have seen men working in an all women's J Cew.

You should be fine. I don't think knowing anything about women's clothing is a requirement for working in a J. Crew. Or any retail clothing chain.
