Starting my diet/exercise routine this week. Looking to do a lot of lean protein, limit carbs, cut down on Diet Coke (god that will be hard ). Plus, working on out a minimum of 4 or 5 times a week.

Haven't you "started" this kind of shit like 40 times? I seem to recall you'd always make some thread about wanting to shrink your breasts and your burning white gut in the making, then a week later talk about how you love bacon. Fucking get it done this time you ugly slut.

see this is why after going to the gym for 4 months i dont feel like going right now a gym full of new years resolutioners. its a good thing overall dont get me wrong but makes me hesitant to run into a gym where every piece of equipment has 4 people on it.

I can't speak on it from personal experience, but I know a lot of people who have had success with ud 2.0.

I'm a firm believer that there are a million ways to lose weight, it's just about finding something you can stick to. I don't over complicate things, just get your protein in and track your calories, eat less if you arent' losing, and you don't need a fancy diet-just hard training.

i think i am going to do something along these lines:

5 days 50g carbs or less
1 day 75-100g
1 day 150 g

a refeed every 2 weeks

4 training sessions

mon-chest/back
tues-legs/abs/core
wed-off
thurs-delts/arms
friday-off
saturday-whole body circuit
sunday-off

on all training days, 40 mins moderate cardio

thoughts? i'd like to drop 4-6% bf and 10-18lbs.

No. He ripped off Stubborn Fat Loss as did most everyone.

You can pick up UD from McDonald directly -

The depletion WOs in UD are a bitch, but it's the diet that psychologically tough. You go from about 50% maintenance with very low carbs to an all out carb orgy. On my refeed days I would be taking in some 7000 cals. It fucks with your mood so much that my wife hates it when I go on the diet.

Best used if you're below 13% BF and can deal with the mood swings. If not there are easier ways to lose fat.

I think to drop 6% bf, you'd have to lose more than 18lbs (I'd guess about 25-30), but this is going to depend highly on genetics, diet, and training.

If everything was spot on, you could probably do it in 25lbs, but again, genetics is king here.

The funny thing about bf is that you'll start to look bigger in the mirror as you get leaner, even though you're dropping weight.

UD 2.0 is a great read. I ended up paying for it, since Lyle McDonald has obviously put a lot of work into it and I didn't feel good about getting a bootleg copy. It is a thin ringbound pamphlet, perhaps 30 or 40 pages and it costs I think in the neighborhood of $25, so it is pretty expensive lb-wise, but it is very good information.

That's why I am running instead of hitting the gym -- lots of room on the road with me at 5:30am

I don't think I could do that "carb-cycling" thing you are talking about. As for the alcohol elimination, for me personally this is required -- I cant lose weight on the daily booze, though I can maintain if I excercise moderation (not my strong suit).
