Lance, no it's definitly not that bad. MCsommerreid basically hit it on the head with the description. Just the back of my hands, very red with blue/purple patches. It dosn't hurt at all, just looks disgusting. I always dress for the weather. I havn't being out latley without at least one big jumper and a big coat. Although i did dress stupid when i was younger, i'd go out when it was snowing in just a t-shirt. Doubt it would have anything to do with it though. I am white, and quite pale. Don't do tanning and havn't being on holiday in a while lol. The colour of my hands changes as and when it pleases. At the moment they're fine, just normal and white. While out was out shopping with mates earlier though they were very red, blue/purple. Then a few days ago when at a party (indoors, warm etc etc) i was fine all night then all of a sudden my hands started going red. It's mad, does it when the hell it wants to lol. I don't think (or at least a ireally hope) it is hypothermia. Clutching at straws but i do tend to lie on my hands virtually every night and wake up about 2 times a night with very bad pins and needles in my hands (obviously from lieing on them lol). Don't know wether that would have anything to do with it. I think i'm going to book an appointment at a doctors. Not sure if he'll be able to do anything other than tell me i've got raynauds or something i don't know. I'll try to get a picture of them when they go their stupid colour, should help me to explain it a bit. Thanks for all your help guys.

what is wrong with wearing gloves? Get a few nice pairs but it just sounds like you are fair skinned and that will be the doctor's explanation.

vote +1 raynouds, even if it's not, it's cooler sounding than hypothermia.

i'm assuming you're in america, and i'm not too sure how the med system works over there (i'm aussie). if you're heading off you your local GP / family practitioner, and they suspect something like raynaud's, they'll usually fire off a bunch of blood tests and write you a referral to a specialist. depending on where you are, it might be a physician (internist) or a rheumatologist. as has been said, it's not that common in younger males, but you might as well get a professional opinion.

would be great if you could post some piccies.

you don't know if anyone in your family has ever had problems with cold agglutination?
