Iritated facial skin

Let me start by giving a brief history of the problem. I am blond haired and blue eyed with light skin. I never had this problem as a kid, but when I was about 13 I started with the acne. For years I was on all kinds of medications and treatments which dried and iritiated my skin. Now, at 25 years old, the acne is all gone, I haven't used any products for years, but I still get the red iritated skin. All I do is get up in the morning and take a shower. I don't even wash my face, I just let the shower water run down my face for a minute. I shave about 3-4 times a week and the iritation actually gets worse if I don't shave for 3 days or more. If I use lotion it just makes my face feel greasy and iritates it more when I rub it in.

Any ideas on what to do?

Try Atopalm face wash and the face cream if you are having problems. I usually switch to this line in the winter months because I have some of the same issues with my skin. It has helped a lot.

If you truly have "red, irritated skin" (not just dry skin) after having cut out all the potential skin irritants and trying to moisturize, go see a dermatologist. With blonde hair and blue eyes at your age you're classic for some kind of inflammatory skin condition like rosacea.

Multi-Lamellar Emulsion creams (a la Atopalm) are your best bet. I also like CeraVe lotion, which is inexpensive an has virtually no comedogenic potential.

In your situation, I would visit a dermatologist. My guess is those treatments back then did something to your skin and you're now experiencing problems from it.
