I'm sure you've all been on tenterhooks waiting to see what comes next.
Well, I was up in the hill country at the family pile of rocks this weekend and found the need to use a knife. I would have thought my grandfather would leave us a drawer of sharp knives upon his passing some 15 years ago, but every last knife looked as thought it had been purposely dulled.
So I ventured into the city and bought a Meyerco. Is it something I'll use at home? Probably not. Will I use it on other people's dull knives? YOU BET. It works pretty damn well, quick grinding, good feedback, keen edge. Not very well-polished, but after a minute or so the knife I was using handled tomatoes like a champ. Requires no water, has a carrying pouch, will keep in the car.
