French cuff shirts at Target

Thread Starter
Just came back from an errand-trip to Target. Saw a French blue merona straight collar with french cuffs, $19.99. For cuff links, two buttons sewn together.

i guess it's a sign. i'm waiting for target to start selling suits - 2B SB high-stance, double vented jacket with peaked lapels, slanted ticket pockets, waist suppression, and slim-fitted plain-front pants. i wonder what kind of fabric they will use. people like to pick on target, but a lot of them (read: us) shop there, and we have been buying more 'designed' stuff there lately that ordinarily we would have bought at crate and barrel or the like. it's the *real* Design Within Reach. as an architect, i can say that Target is big among my group of peers. people with champagne sensibilities but beer budgets. (well, good beer anyway.) /andrew

Some of the Merona stuff is pretty decent. I've seen Merona sweaters and such made in Australia and the UK rather than the typical 3rd world country. Next time I'm there I'll have to take a look. Reviving an earlier recommendation that I happily acted on, try the Merona undershirts. Much better than the RL Polo undershirts I purchased.

i was told that the merona underwear and undershirts are designed and manufactured by the same company, h. best, that makes the 2(x)ist line of underwear target had some really good philippe starck goods for a while that was really edgy but apparently was a bit too edgy for the masses as it didnt' last

I wear their Merona undershirts, and I find that they work out pretty well. The only thing I have noticed however, is that the newer ones have changed the label, and are now being made over in a third world country (I will check the tags when I get home, as I cannot reach around to check the label on my undershirt). I wonder if the rest of the Merona pieces will follow.

You cracked me up. The "real" Design Within Reach is right on. Though I love the mid-century stylings of Eames, etc, I think the current prices are beyond the designer's original intent of design for everyone. Fortunately we have Target. Bespoke pillow anyone? Isaac Mizrahi Pillow Paul Smith Pillow

They're only 19.99, and 39.99?

Apparently getting too "hip" isolates. Gauging from others' reactions it can be intimidating.
