Downtown is really far from SFSU main campus, especially if you plan to take public transportation. If you plan to use the SFSU downtown campus a lot, go Tenderloin or Hayes Valley. Tenderloin will offer you lifetime stories!

were you responding to OP or me? i need to find someone who is renting a room.

I'd check craigslist and come up (chinatown bus, cheap flight) if you find a few things interesting. I wouldn't take something if I haven't seen it.

i just graduated from sfsu. i commuted from san bruno (san bruno and south of there is where the weather gets better). cheap living here, especially with a room mate. sfsu is a commuter school, so most of the people u meet on campus wont be from the city (at least psych majors mostly werent from the city). if you really want to be in the city, theres nice places in park merced, sunset, haight, and richmond district (all on the west side of the city).

The east bay is so much cooler. You can live in all the new apartments in Emeryville with all the tech guys for really cheap, and you can come visit me in Piedmont.
