Wow that came out of nowhere. Lol, I guess Steinbrenner hasn't learned any lessons on overspending in the last decade. Every year - especially next - a season without a championship will be seen as an epic failure.

Too bad, I wanted the Sox to get him. That would have cleared the way for the Mets to get Lowe, but now I think he will go to Boston.

they pissed me off, too. shoulda grabbed kerry wood for 2 years at 20 mil and been playas for another starter.

They are players for another starter. K-Rod's contract is worth what, $13MM per yr? That's $3MM more than Wood's. They will still probably sign Lowe or Perez. Now we have a big shot at getting Manny as well. It's either NY or LA for him, and I like our chances to outspend LA in a 2-year deal.

if they overspend on ollie p. i'll become a full-time red sox fan. they should grab garland at least to eat innings. the mets have a no.1 starter and a bunch of number 4 starters. may be wrong, but i don't see pelfrey having the makeup to be a dominant starter.
