this is a good movie. like others here, i laughed a lot. it has it's flaws, but overall very much worth seeing.

yes, the azns are stereotypes, but so is everyone else in the film. that's the point.

Gran Torino is probably the single most over rated movie the world has ever seen IMO, Clint Eastwood has still got it, but the other actors were very bad, the ending was terrible, I mean the whole movie was leading up to some epic battle and then, well the ending happened.

+1. I'm starting to realize how bad the acting is. I thought it was great when I saw it in the theater. I guess paying $22 to sit in the dark automatically makes a film somewhat better than it actually is.

Agreed. The plot was also very clichéd and predictable: Crotchety, bitter old man lives alone, an outcast in his neighborhood until a teenage boy and girl meet him, and through their experiences together, show him how happy life is. Gee, where have I seen that before?

name another movie that a supposed bad ass main character accepts death without a real fight, how is the ending remotely predictable?
in fact, name any movie, it can be summarized in about 2 or 3 sentences, and fall in some kind of "cliche" genre
