What is the firsy thing a lady notices about a guy

Thread Starter
I know I'm asking a general question (and I've asked several ladies I know and gotten different responses) but - what is the first thing that a lady typically notices about a guy? Is it his shoes, watch, hair, suit, tie, mannerisms, etc? Curious as to whether any of the ladies in the forum (or significant others of the guys here) can chime in with some thoughts. Thanks.

spelling?

It's definitely not his watch. Hell, most men have no idea what they are looking at when it comes to watches, (other than a Rolex, and even then...) thus women can usually tell even less. You think I would receive a compliment regarding one of my watches more often than I do. Jon.

I've been led to believe it's more about the attitude you project... Clothes can make the man, but a confident man makes any item of clothing look better. Bradford

Too many variables. It can be the hair, the clothes, the smile, the intelligence, the blushing, the cologne, the eyes, the use of language, the manners, and on and on and on. I do notice men's watches and have complimented a few on theirs. I don't claim to be an expert by any means, but I think I can recognize style.

I've got to think it's simply a matter of his general confidence level; is he comfortable being wherever he happens to be, and does he look like he belongs there? That's the only way I can reconcile the "King of Queens" situation I always see, in which one sees attractive women with very unattractive men. Clothes, of course, can be a big part of that.

Yeah, first date watches for me are 14k/ss Daytonas or Subs

See? I wore my dad's 18kt WG Audemars Piguet perpetual calendar w/ skeleton back (went with my clothes) once to a first date, and she noticed not, even though it costs more than her and my car combined (retail price). Jon.

Sad, I paid $40 for my Diesel watch and I get compliments on it by women quite often.

True, but you'd probably get more positive comments about Diesel jeans than a Borelli suit as well, that's the nature of high end stuff That said, I get positive comments about Breitlings and AP watches quite often, although not nearly as much as the rolexes.

whatever the first thing is, i bet the second thing they notice (if they're "looking", that is) is whether there's a Ring.

I've always been given the impression that shoes count for a lot. That has been my experience at least. A.

yes, that reminds me - i heard a woman admit once that the first things she looks at are shoes and whether a man has manicured nails. granted, this lady was a bit predatory.
