No offense but I don't understand that "we weren't getting anywhere" thing, in the long term no one is getting anywhere except a casket/urn. If you got out because you weren't happy/comfortable with something that's fine but vague notions of the future don't mean shit unless they materialize (say you want kids and she doesn't and it's tearing your couple apart). Still you have my sympathy, these situations are a weight to carry for a while.
