It had to be done.

She's great, but it wasnt a relationship that was heading anywhere, so after a year and a half I put a stop to it.

Just kinda eating into each other's futures if we keep going like that.

It's still sad though.

I ended a 20 month relationship on Friday, I feel for you man. I'm going far away for college and that broke her heart, still trying to figure out what I can learn from the whole thing.

I feel for you Matt. Even when you know it is the right move, it's still tough to go through.

Keep yourself busy and the hurt will eventually pass.

Well not every relationship needs to have direction. Unless either of you are looking to settle down, the relationship wouldn't be eating into each other's future. The relationship could just be for fun. It'd be like a hobby. You don't want to turn it into a career, but you enjoy doing it anyway.

While any breakup sucks, I think you are the kinda guy to have made a solid decision on this.

I'll commisserate for a moment, but let me be the first to buy you a virtual beer (would be a real beer if at all possible in real life) or two and throw you back into the deep end of the pool.

If you have to do it, it's better that it's done prior to the new year's. Now you have a fresh start to court any ladies you like.
