Magazine Subscriptions.

What magazines do you subscribe to? I just moved and I'm thinking about taking up a few subscriptions. In the past, I've had Surface, Cigar Aficionado, Food & Wine, and Guitar World. Not to mention Ranger Rick as well, but that was back when I was a wee wayfarer.

New Yorker, Economist, Portfolio, and GQ.

The Atlantic, HBR (at work, so not sure that counts) and a Canadian wine magazine. I may subscribe to the Economist again, but I don't know if I can keep up with a weekly these days.

Academic journals make fun subscriptions, especially when you don't completely understand a discipline or study. I find that I learn more by reading complete numbers than by reading individual articles through electronic resources.

I've always been into Vice for their perfect blend of humor, social commentary, insightful articles, and of course the occasional photo spread with nudity. More recently I started getting into Monocle. It's a pretty good read particularly if you want something that covers a broad range of topics. I think it complements the Economist rather well.

I'm about to subscribe to The Atlantic, considering I've read dozens of interesting articles on their site over the last few years.

Cook's Illustrated. Everything about it is pretty incredible. Other than that, most magazines have been disappointing me lately, even other specialist magazines. I should probably try Imbibe. ~ H

And the rest of the expensive UK magazines and art periodicals is what Borders/Barnes and Noble is for.

I wish I could subscribe to Lightning or Free and Easy, but I don't think they do that.

I had one to the New Yorker last year, and while I really enjoyed some of the articles, I found it a tad overwhelming at times. Some of it's just too intellectual and drab for my tastes

Recently I've been reading Men's Vogue and GQ and Esquire articles quite regularly and have found them to be pretty good. Not sure I'd get a subscription, though.

I also have one for Macleans, but if you aren't Canadian I somehow doubt that would interest you. But it's a top quality magazine

GQ, Esquire, Men's Health, Men's Vogue, Portfolio, Best Life...all of which have been disappointing lately. I find that the British versions of these mags are so much better but low subsciption costs keep me coming back.
