They're fantastic, although RTW. Assos FI.13 bib shorts made in Switzerland...very iGent since they come with suspenders...I mean...braces, and are high back:

I recommend them highly.

Well, one of the points that I hope my one example makes is that it is one thing for a tailor to readily assent to the fact of deviating from a client's wishes and then correcting it properly. But, when Edwin went ahead and finished the incorrect pair and sent it on to me at no cost, it showed two things:

1. Confidence in his work and that I would like the alternative even if I didn't specify it, and I did like it.

2. That he valued a long term relationship with a client built on trust and conviviality.

These are qualities that bespoke experience can provide well or poorly at extremes that are not possible in RTW. Sure, it can be very, very bad.

But it also can be very, very good.

Their description could have been written by Tom Ford's ad team:

"The FI.13 _ S2 is the successor of the legendary FI.13, the pioneer of the Comfort Revolution and the first short with Elastic Insert (2001). Engineered for demanding individuals who challenge peak performance in every aspect of life. Enjoy the S2 for that special ride; it will make you go further, longer, in total comfort and in exclusive style. The precious S2 is produced in limited quantities, according to strict company quality guidelines. It is handmade in Switzerland."

Oh, baby...

I'm not a very talkative person, and so I usually say something once. I've learned to see it "in writing" when communicating with a maker, or have someone with me who also remember the specification.

What you are describing to me has more to do with, for the lack of a better word, "chemistry" between the maker and client. That involves much more of the background of both parties than the interaction itself.

In the final analysis, however, it is a business transaction that may or may not be made more pleasant by harmonious chemistry. You say this, they say yes to this, you pay for this, you get this.

There is also the question of enough . . notch instead of peak is not enough, but a nonglaringly misplaced pocket might be enough (to take home).

M, one should not mix up experience with pickiness.

Looking back, without anger of course, I was picky due to the lack of experience. In the worst case it spoils the "relationship". Fortunately, I never drove it into the wall. Second, one can work on a relationship.

As soon as you know, or you think you know, pickiness turns into your level of experience and you can go ahead.

Just my 2 cents.

PS: Vox, is it cryptic enough?
