Storing shirt buttons

Hey everyone, do you remove the extra buttons when you buy a shirt and store them off in a sewing kit with a label?

I cellotape my spare buttons onto the shirts coat hanger which has the appropriate label inscribed into the wood.

Remove extra cuff button, leave the lower placket buttons on, so you can do a repair on the fly if necessary.

Well, I do remove them and chuck them in the 'spare sh!t' box. Nothing organized - just match by eye if you need one.

I leave them on or I lose them. Somewhere in the house are several paper packets containing spare jacket buttons. Somewhere...
