Question on Storm System Winter Coats...

I'm wondering if anyone has found a winter coat of Loro Piana Storm System fabric that is good quality but less money than the Loro Piana coats?

I'm looking for an outer coat styled like a Horsey Jacket (somewhat long, side vents) but in Storm fabric.

I'm looking for something in the $1-1.5K range or less. Any ideas?

Does Zegna or any other label use this material?

Wait for the Saks and Neiman sales on Loro Piana, currently at 30% off and 40% off respectively. I suspect sometime in January we will see Loro Piana items near 70% off. At that point, you should be able to buy a storm system winter coat by Loro Piana at the price you want. No need to look for substitutes...

Certainly an option but while at Neimans today the Storm coat I wanted was $3,200. I would need a big discount.

Hickey Freeman has a number of coats that use the Storm System fabric. This one retails for $1,700. On sale for $500 right now.

I 2nd that HF coat - I may have to get one for myself! I've seen LP Storm System coats for as low as $200 at the Saks outlets - right now they have 50% off all outerwear... may be worth checking out - although none as nice as the HF just posted...

IN case anyone's wondering, the Storm System fabric has a wind- and water-resistant thermal backing which makes a lightweight but warm garment. Here's a look at the back of it

I got a donegal tweed storm system coat from brooks brothers outlet a few seasons ago. It retailed for $550 or so. I paid $125 and love it. Totally blocks wind. Very soft wool. What a deal.
