Yes, but I was speaking about Chan's 50% increase in price over two years, not its value relative to Jantzen. I don't know how Jantzen makes a profit--though I don't think their fabrics are quite up to the level of the Acorn and Thomas Mason fabrics used by Chan. Nevertheless, as I said, Jantzen is certainly a better value--if they work for you. But over a year of placing orders with Jantzen, I've received one shirt with a decent but far from perfect fit and four additional shirts that had to be sent back. I'm now told that Jantzen never received them. I learned this only after calling three times. My e-mail inquiries were never answered. So I'm probably out the cost of those. At over $250 for the one shirt in my possession, Jantzen is not proving a real bargain. On the other hand, I've ordered one shirt from Chan--measured by Patrick Chu. Cost was $100. The shirt fits perfectly. I've now ordered 5 more because I know I'll receive them with reasonable promptness and that they will fit.

Chan's pricing has moved up dramatically over the past couple of years. They are no longer pricing for the HK market, but for the US market. As a comparison, A-Man does S100s Thomas Mason shirts from US$85. Chan comes in at $115. A-Man does not travel, Chan takes most of their orders from the US.
