She was my girlfriend before she was my roommate though, so maybe the dynamic is a bit different.

yup. Banged the girl downstairs for a couple months. She went off her pill in order to get pregnant and ensure that I would stay with her forever. Stayed with her long enough to bring her back from the clinic and moved out pretty quickly afterwards.

I thought the whole idea of having a house mate was so you could bang them, thats what my last house mate told me 15mins before I tied her to the bed head and had my wicked way with her anyway.

my 2nd year roomate from university ended up being my girlfriend for the entire school year...we continued shortly into the summer break and broke it off during the summer.

we never saw each other again after, so there was no awkwardness....but in your case, if you continue to live there, i would presume it to be quite difficult after.
