What do you use to organize your ties?

Right now my ties are, frankly, a mess. I've seen the tie "racks" that look like wooden hangers from AE but I'm not convinced that would be much of an improvement over what I've got now. So, my question is what do you use to organize your ties?

I currently keep my ties rolled in a drawer. This allows me to easily see patterns and colours. The only problem is the ties are in the bedroom and shirts and suits are in my walk in closet. I plan on getting some kind of shelf that can be hung on the wall of the closet. I would like cubby holes that will allow me to place the rolled ties in them. I haven't been able to find anything suitable and may be forced to make my own if I can ever find the time.

Yes, it's a bit difficult to figure out what to do. I have one of the wooden peg racks, but it's more than full and the rest of my ties are on trouser hangers in the closet (a metal one with the cardboard cover over the bar like you get from the dry cleaner). I'm trying to clear some out right now just to thin the herd. I've got about half a dozen backed up right now I've not even worn, and my eye on a few more to purchase. It's a losing battle, I fear.

I've got a rack that hangs on the inside of the closet door. It has 3 bars (vinyl coated wire); I use 2 for neckties and 1 for bow ties. It also has 4 hangers for belts. My only complaint is that it's really designed for about half as many ties as I have, so I have to move ties aside to see what's underneath. If all three racks were used for neckties, it could probably accommodate 3 dozen pretty easily.

here are some ideas, below. I bought my wood tie racks (brass hanger supporting a wood center, on which about 20 or so brass 'pins' rotate to hold ties-- pretty space efficient) at a department store a few years back (probably dillards or marshall fields, nothing expensive-- but i really like them) http://www.redenvelope.com/re....7&nc2=1 http://shop.store.yahoo.com/giftwagon/soloakswivti.html

I use the wooden pegboard things. The extras, I used to keep on hangers, but I recently moved and got a little more wallspace so I was able to get another board and now have just enough room, albeit with some of my bowties doubled up.

Sharper Image makes a decent battery powered revolving rack that holds six dozen or thereabouts. You can buy them for a nominal amount on eBay. Will

My solution for ties, braces and pocket squares. I use a combination of different racks to hold my accessories in my closet.
