My view of strip clubs is a bit skewed. DC has no lap dances, and the only things that go on in the clubs are girls up on stage and girls walking around to get a couple extra bucks. Said places in DC are much more laid back than your usual club, and you also drop a fraction of the money. That being said, these establishments (well, one in particular that I actually don't become nauseous by looking at some of the girls), are a nice place to kill time between happy hour and 11-12 when the clubs start to become busy on Friday night.

I'm not a big fan of your usual club. I don't enjoy being pressured during the shake down. I also don't want to drop all of that money. Why do that when you can give your wife a bottle of wine and "have fun"? Saves money and you get further.

most strippers, even at high-end places, will suck your butthole for a few hundred on a slow night.

went to a club the other night and saw a couple of nice girls from the local college. One even had a class with me, she asked me what i thought about the Final in our Poli Sci class before asking if i wanted a "private"

I don't mind supporting single moms, but really, this is what goes through my mind when I go to these establishments:

Wow. I'm such a loser that I can't get a girl to do this because she likes me.

So, unless I go with friends, I'd rather just go get an equally attractive* girl to go home with me.

*Equally attractive might involve prodigious amounts of alcohol. Offer void in Utah.

One of my friends went to a different college than I did and said that he went to a strip club once and there was this girl there that he knew from school. She came out on stage and saw him and looked really embarrassed.

Back in my dissolute younger days in the '70s, I was quite a "regular" at several strip clubs. In hindsight, it strikes me as a very considerable waste of time and money, but it seemed like fun at the time. I very suddenly overdosed on those places in the Spring of 1980 and never had much interest in visiting them thereafter.

At least in those days, the strippers were emphatically not hookers. As I said, I was a regular in several of these places. I tipped generously by the standards of the day (and my limited means) and was on very cordial terms with a lot of the girls). Not one of them ever so much as intimated that her services were for hire. As one absolutely adorable redhead remarked to me, "I've been in this business for 14 years [she was 33], and I've known a lot of girls. Out of all of them, only three were into selling themselves. If I wanted to be hooking, I'd be out hooking, not dancing. I'd probably make a lot more money that way."

I did date one of the girls a few times. She was a Scientologist, as it turned out, and very weird even beyond that. I never "closed the deal" with her though. I ran into her a few times on Larchmont Blvd. about 16 years later looking not too much the worse for wear, which tends to belie the popular notion that all strippers come to bad ends and go down to early graves.

I used to go quite a bit back in the day but that shit gets expensive.

When I was single I went all the time. I used to laugh because I was spending at least $1000 a month at the strip club.

Then I got in a bad relationship and some nutty girl and went ever more.

Now I am in a happy relationship and haven't been in about a year.

No big deal at all. However, I think the sad part is the guys who spend tons of money on these women. I'll go to a strip club, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna spend more than a couple Jacksons while I'm in there.

Here is the plan: You should go with friends who like to go. Then pretend you don't enjoy the adventure. Next thing you know they will buy you a lap dance just to see how you react. That is what I can a win/win

I had never been either until I got to law school.

Have gone maybe 3 or 4 times. Don't plan to go back anytime soon. We used to get in for free (no cover) and there were great drink specials. Then that place closed, I guess for letting in too many people for free and giving away too many drinks Otherwise they are a huge money pit. The replacement sucked, went back once.


It's more fun when you take girls with you though, although the dancer's reactions were mixed.
