Question on bench pressing technique - Page 2

I think the difference between a slight incline press (below 45 degrees, which is roughly where emphasis shifts to the delts) and a flat press is that there is more tricep recruitment on the flat press, not that you're emphasizing upper over lower. You're really just recruiting more fibers all over.

^and the legs in the air issue is why i'm so fond of floor presses. very little wiggle room, literally.

Okay, taking a break from work:

a. Bench press is functional. If you don't think so, try to shotput.

b. Floor presses are good. Bench press is primarily a triceps exercise, so there's a decent carryover to the full bench. When you bench real big this matters more. If you can't bench above 200lbs. I wouldn't worry too much about floor presses

^yes, agreed. i switched to floor presses when i hit the 500 lb. bench plateau and saw no where else to go.

I'm not going to mention race, because that's unimportant. He is laying on top of you, squeezing the breath out of you. Because you never tried benching that 260 lb max you claimed all the way from your chest, you are unable to get him off you. Tyrone Tyson Washington King only gets off. NOT TOUCHING THE CHEST WHEN BENCHING IS FOR VICTIMS OF RAPE
