Walgreens Hangers - Page 3

Sorry, but I have to plug www.HangerProject.com. These are the hangers seen on AskAndy. They are scheduled to begin shipping the first part of May and there are plenty left, if anyone's interested. Although not as cheap as the hangers from Walgreens, many think they are better than the Oxxford hanger. One feature Oxxford's hanger doesn't have is a felted trouser bar and the availability of three widths: 17.0, 18.5, and 20.0. Also, the prices on the website are all-in; aka. they include shipping to your front door via FedEx. Kirby P.S. Since we're talking about hangers, I'm currently working with my manufacturer to design a new shirt hanger optimized for dress shirts. I plan on offering at least two widths (probably a 17.0" and 19.0"). If you have any suggestions, please pass them along.

I got an email a while back suggesting late April or May, IIRC.

I am a little surprised that members would pay so much for hangers but not consider stuffing their jacket sleeves with newspaper.

I agree - I go "overboard" on many of my purchases, but can't see it with hangers....especially when I find the Target one's easily fulfill my needs. Not knocking anyone who decides otherwise - I think I'm just happy to get off cheap for once and be satisfied...

At my Neimans, the local salestaff will give you extra Oxxford hangers if you ask nicely. They are terrific hangers.

MLR, what kinds of tailored clothing do you wear? And also, are the target hangers thick on the ends/ supporting the shoulders?

Are these the hangers you're using? If so, they are too thin and may be slowly degrading your suits, dude.

Would you put discount walmart tires on an Aston Martin or Ferrari?

I expect to receive the hangers by Wednesday this week. They then have to be forwarded to Michigan, where they will then be distributed to everyone per the specifications of their order. I anticipate them being shipped before May 15th, hopefully even delivered by then. Once I get more exact details, I will, of course, notify everyone via e-mail. I will also forward a tracking number once they ship.

Feel free to PM me w/any specific questions.

Kirby

While these hangers are certainly not as good as free Oxxford hangers from Niemans, they are certainly much better than stuffing one's jacket sleeves with newspaper. The dry cleaning tags I tear off each morning creates enough trash at the bottom of my closet--I don't need to compound the problem with newspaper! Although I would certainly never pay $35 for an Oxxford hanger, $15 w/shipping seems pretty reasonable given that my Woodlore Epic shoetree costs $20 w/the Style Forum discount. However, I cannot proclaim independence, as I am most certainly biased and am very happy with my closet full of hangers! Also, the felted trouser hanger is perhaps the most valuable--and most unique--addition to my closet. I can't even begin to explain the joy I experienced when evicting my nasty cardboard dry cleaner hangers!

I bought into this round of Kirby's hangers and I'm really looking forward to getting them. There's something very satisfying about putting my shoes away at the end of the day with good cedar trees, and I'm guessing that the hangers will provide a similar effect.

I think it also depends on your jacket shoulders, the walgreens ones leave about 1 to 2 inches off the hanger. Plus my pants always fall off the wall green hangers

Yo Foxx - you got it wrong dude, Joel got it right. I'm assuming you're not a P.I. 'cause if you were you'd have alot of disappointed clients...

ah, i didn't see those online. Those target hangers are not much different than the ones from the Container Store that I used, prior to discovering the askandy hangers-- looks like they are wide enough to support the shoulders and do the job with no problems.

Come to think of it, I might have some containerstore hangers to sell cheap this summer.....
