Was Lindbergh a style icon? If we get any further afield we'll need camping gear. And to think I started all this with a chance remark on a man recutting his father's suits.

Well, I've always felt the old aviation outfits rather pleasing to the eye.

Well, I've always felt the old aviation outfits rather pleasing to the eye.
The best dressed aviator was undoubtedly Alberto Santos-Dumont. He couldn't beat the Wright Brothers in gettiing a plane to fly but by God the man could dress.

There aren't any. Unless you count Nicky here, who kept up appearances by taking all the sacraments. But he was an atheist.

In that more power to him for the Cartier watch. Another style icon in its own right, that timepiece.
