Ohio State v. Texas for Fiesta Bowl - Page 3

There's no such thing as a split national title anymore.

If I'm not mistaken the AP can crown their own champion if they want. They're not part of the BCS so they don't have to vote the winner of the BCS 1 vs 2 as the champion. Like LSU and USC in 2003.

How has that possibility been removed?

What do you mean? Like the BCS champion USC and the AP Champion LSU from 4 years ago? Both getting national championship trophies? The AP still believes they're important and even broke away from the BCS to prove that, when actually, they're just useless now. Still, they aren't afraid to crown their own national champion, especially if oklahoma barely beats uf and texas murders osu (since texas beat oklahoma). They'd probably crown texas just to try and stick it to the BCS. I dunno.

LSU was the BCS champion that year and, as such, is the rightful national champion. USC's "dynasty" has one title. The AP agreed to play by the BCS rules and then took their ball and ran home crying when it didn't work out how they wanted. Fuck them.

I truly wanted to see Texas draw a decent opponent (Texas vs. Alabama). Oh well, poor Buckeyes don't stand a chance. The most interesting bowl game outside of the national championship game is Boise State vs. TCU. Offense vs. defense.

Whoa. I might have to catch this one.

If OU wins and Texas shuts out OSU by more than 28, the world would be hard pressed to not think Texas is the best team out there.

That said, I love Tebow but hate the Gators. Go Sooners.

In case you're being sarcastic, Boise State has their trick-play offense and TCU is one of 2 teams to hold Oklahoma under 45 points this year. I predict this will be much more fun to watch than the lame BCS matchups like Texas-Ohio State, Penn State-USC, Utah-Alabama...

If you think Texas deserves to be #1 based on head-to-head records, I think you're forgetting that Texas Tech could have a claim...

You give up that claim when you lose by 44.

I wasn't being sarcastic. I think both of those teams are sleepers and both are looking to make a big splash. Two motivated, well-matched teams with good records going head-to-head, I'd say Boise wins by around a touchdown but the game should be damn good.

That said, yeah, we're going to get owned.

no matter how i look at it, the Big 10 is going to get raped this year

as always

Colt's coming back for another year. What are the chances Tebow returns? It would be great to see Tebow v McCoy for the title next year. . .

i'd say his chances are good at coming back. tebow is not projected to be a top QB prospect either this year or next. tebow is a great college QB, but i don't think his game can transfer will into the NFL.

conne, you should apply for the cheerleading squad. I hear they accept "men" now. Just htink, you could dance infront of thousands of fans and then get trained in the locker room just like the girls do.

All that said, I hate Texas and I hate OSU. I pray the final score is 3-2.

Agreed. Except for the close part.

What people fail to realize is that USC, against any team with a quarterback not named Vince Young, absolutely destroys the competition.

Give Pete Carroll a month and he'll rip you to pieces. Please I beg anyone to doubt me now. It's going to happen. It's just a matter of by how much.
