What clothing/shoe store/chain/brands would you like to see go bankrupt?

If the only condition was to benefit from its liquidition sale, as opposed to actually wanting it to fail, put me in the Barney's column too

I do agree with some of the others listed above. And throw in 7FAM, TR, etc.

On a semi-serious note, I got a mass email from Butch Blum in Seattle recently outlining their challenges and basically pleading with a coupon offer to shop there soon. I do feel for some of these regional merchants who have grown in the community over the years but are now at serious risk.

Kohl's seems overpriced to me. I don't want to hunt around for coupons to buy simple **** like a skillet or a towel. I tried to go there several times a few years ago and was consistently surprised in the pricing. Target ownz them

Leffot is a lot more likely to fall than say Barneys, even if the later is having some serious problems right now. Not gonna be pretty if a bunch of the specialized retailers and small boutiques go down. I'd like Ralph Lauren to fall but I don't see that happening.

Wow, it would be depressing and sad to see such icons like Tiffany, Neiman, Louis Vuitton, Nordstrom and Ferragamo go out of business. I may not always like their style, but they are giants of the industry and have done much for fashion. Their demise would truly be sad.......IMHO.

Neiman's one of those chains for which I harbor an odd sentimentality, even though it's always overpriced, usually pretentious and carries little I'm interested in. I think I like it because it's a reminder of the golden age of department stores.

Lacoste - $200+ for a pair of shoes made in Vietnam and the classic polo now virtually not made in France anymore.

Barneys.

They've never really been respectable.
In New York last month was shown $ 3000+
Battistoni suits by a street creep wearing torn
acid-wash jeans,, designer running shoes
and a faux military jack with epaulets. He
did not belong in the Adult Clothing Department.

I'll start:

Barneys: and I gonna grab me some Berluti's

Paul Stuart: for the sheer joy of seeing the forlorn look on the face of the sales associates

Jay Kos: no personal experience, but apparently quite snooty, and see above

That is a generous seasonal thought for all those who would lose their jobs or money.

The past was the past, what I take issue with is the here and now, and personally I would have no problems with these companies simply disappearing, especially Tiffany and Louis Vuitton, Neiman and Ferragamo don't irk me as much, but it wouldn't be a loss to me personally if one day poof they were gone.
