New Sartorialist Photo -- Workwear done right - Page 2

There's just too much going on here. I really like the bottom half of the photo, gloves included. But the patttern mixing is just overwhelming. The clashing plaids is really bothering me.

Someone tell me where to get those socks.

awful

In agreement with dusty... Red/black flannel on top of green/white? No... If the clothes weren't that clean, he'd just look homeless.

Way too much going on. His beard and overal physical appearance allow him a bit more in terms of eccentric leeway but is pretty try-hard.

I love how most workwear inspired looks are more costume than anything else...

So what jeans is he wearing? They are clearly selvage and look a bit like Samurais but I can't see any "peek-a-boo" selvage at the coin pocket corner. Any thoughts?

I thought they were iron heart but it would be pretty impossible to tell from this pic alone.

All I know is they are hemmed with a chainstitch and they are shorter than stock, the only places you can get this done easily is BiG or Self Edge.

I'm not too keen on the bow tie and the shirt it is tied around. But minus those things I like it. The outerwear looks similar to a Woolrich Field Coat.

The jacket he's wearing's way too big. He's swimming in it. Cut that down to size to match the fittedness of the jeans and then we've got something. Or just toss it out all together. The rest is still pretty interesting.

This guy looks like Gary's avatar.

even without the jacket, it'd be overkill. however, it'd be interesting, not ridiculous.

i agree the the coat is too big, but i kinda like the big coat with slim bottom look.

you said the same thing about my pants in the EG thread but i kinda disagree. i think the juxtaposition of fitted and non fitted works in some cases. here obviously not.

true.dat

Gotta love the "look like a working man while never having really worked a day in my life'" trend.
