(linux_pro)Why would you want it not screen-viewable?
(Alexander Kabbaz) Dear Uriahheep, I take extreme pride in my printing and design skills. There, I am permitted to work at 1200dpi. And you want me to schmutz it down to 72dpi? If I can figure a way to insure that the .pdf will not be screen-viewable (probably by making it 600dpi) then a .pdf version will be made available.
The main reason is as stated above. We are going through a great deal of work to make this a nice keepsake, printed in full color on top quality paper at 1200dpi. Additionally, there will be a couple of pieces of fabric in the newsletter so that members can "feel" while they read. Kind of like "scratch 'n sniff" ... but this is "feel and ahhhh." A second reason is color. The internet is very good at reproducing 256 colors. Need I say more? Therefore, though sections of the newsletter will be readable online after
the printed copies are mailed, we shall not
be posting the entire newsletter online. There is no way to prevent it from being screen viewable. So ... if you want it, click the link top of Page 1. If you're worried about your address, have it sent to you at General Delivery. If you're not in the U.S., we'll send anyway - just like more than 100 of your fellow members.
