had a stomach virus for 2 days so i'm taking a total of 4 days off from training. i am losing it since i can't train. is this normal? is some time off once in a while good? i'm alweays concerned i will shrink.

Not body dismorphia, just a bit OCD. You'll be fine. Yes, time off is good. You'll probably even grow somewhat if you never take time off.

I've never heard of this dismorhia you speak of. *** Okay, is this a serious post? Do you really think you'll lose any size or appreciable strength (unrelated to dehydration or loss of appetite secondary to illness) in 4 days? Some time off is good IMO.

No, no, you are going to shrink.

You might as well start ordering some size 38 Longs now.

You have the same condition as Russ Tamblyn did in "The Incredible Shrinking Man"

taking a break's fine. do you see kate moss when you look in the mirror or something?

Are you really that big? In your "what are you wearing now" posts you don't seem huge, but I guess when I think of weightlifting, I think of the pros.

Kunks really cut but he's quite strong by any normal standard. Around 600 pound squats sand deads i believe.

i'm 6'2, 235. not that cut, but lean (relatively). i was 280 a few years ago but tapered down. i have always been like this. have trained heavy 6 days a week for 14 years and played bball on my off day. have taken a total of maybe 15 days off completely in those 14 years.

Is being a 38 long an indication of something??

Jesus Christ! You should take a whole month off! That's insane, yet very impressive dedication.

It's actually a good idea to take about a week off every 4-6 weeks or so, your muscles will still be growing during time off.

I'm in your boat right now, I'm sick as a dog these days and haven't worked out in 3 days. Feel pathetic, I think I'm going to do what I can at home.

An entire month off is bad. Supposedly once you go more than 3 weeks without training, you start to lose it. Anyway, I had the stomach virus for a while and couldn't workout for a week. When I went back to college, my friends noticed right away that I was smaller. But it wasn't so significant that I had to buy new clothes or anything. I probably became smaller because I wasn't getting any nutrition, or I was getting very little nutrition. Any time I ate something, I'd throw it up or it would pass through me too quickly.

With a stomach bug, I'm assuming you had diarrhea and/or vomiting. I'm guessing most of that is simply water loss.
