So do you guys recommend soak/dry, soak/dry, etc., to get all the shrinking out, or
soak/dry "wear" soak/dry "wear" etc..
nowadays, i triple soak the suckers before breaking them in.

if the waist is already dangerously close fitting [... but not tight] when RAW, chuck a stick or hanger [that corresponds to your waist size] on the waistband on every soak to prevent horizontal shrinkage while the denim is still stiff & not broken in. this simple exercise will save you a lot of grief/pain

I took some close-ups of the Zero (VX) denim I own. The slubs/bumps/knots you see below are all from my Lot.10 and Lot.11 VX denim (more so from the latter). I compared those two to the Lot.12 VX denim and to my surprise I haven't found a single slub/knot (yet) on the Lot.12 (in pre-soak state that is but a soak shouldn't change that). I have noticed the same situation on the 15oz Texas Cotton denim. No/less slubs on Lot.12 but some on Lot.10 and a lot on Lot.11. So my advice: if you guys love slubs, get Lot.11 if possible. My questions: Did you guy notice the same? Does it bother you at all? Or do you like it better that way? Does someone know if Samurai officially changed the denim (I'm looking at you coleslawyum)? What's the situation on Lot.13 and Lot.14?

i am not familiar with the aw models but blue in green has the measurements of all samurai models up on their site so you can compare to find something similar. i would start with the samurai 500 or 5000 models. hope this helps.

There's a model called the 510 that is a really loose fit IMO. I'd recommend checking that one out. I think on the BiG website, it's just called the "Regular Straight Fit".

Most people buy them from BiG, it's good to support your local retailers.

If you are going to go the Rakuten route, most Rakuten stores that sell Samurai ship directly to the US, so no need for a proxy. Be aware, though, that most Rakuten stores do not allow returns or exchanges on international orders, so if you screw up your sizing, you're probably out of luck.
