@Nelson__ imo, the fit is fine & the sizing is what i call "sized to keep". thiis xx shrinks incremently, even beyond the 1st wash. i had an expensive lesson on sizing them__ 'had to do a take 2. 1st pair i got i sized TTS, but turned out to be the infamous Lot 10 [w/c were undercut= shrink from tagged]. i got the "sample" O/W which Gordon usually does on a pair of a new lot/shipment to determine shrinkage. instead of exchanging, i kept them cuz the initial fit was spot on. then, they started wrenching every soak & even after 2nd wash.

2nd time around i size right, TTS. tho' the denim possesses [potential] stretch, it will stay tight unless forced to stretch out. imo, you should keep them & just do preiod warm soak when necessary.

A noob question on TTS here. From what I can gather, TTS means true to waist size regardless of what the tag says. For example, if my true waist is 32 and the waist of the jeans is 32, but the tag says 31/33, I should be ok getting it. I know there are myriad of other variables such as sanforized vs. unsanforized, stretching, skrinking (famous for Samurai). Am I in the clear?

True to size means if your waist is 32 you buy a pair that is tagged size 32

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I feel that there's so much room in the top block and the thighs. soaked for one hour with hottest tap water. what should i do? should i sell and resize?

Do a couple more soaks, they will probably shrink up a bit more each time.

I wouldn't say those look too big, but they are definitely too long. Do you plan on getting them hemmed after soaking?

Nice fit, Fred.

You keeping the stacking?
Thanks guys. I went TTS and they've been hemmed to a 36 before soaking so they're probably a 34 by now.

According to the measurement charts, it looks like the S610LX fits a fair amount looser in the thigh than the S003JP. They both use the same weight denim, but with different types of cotton. The S003JP seems to have nicer cosmetic details, though that is certainly a matter of opinion.

I agree, I would do at least another hot soak or two before you decide. One hot soak isn't going to get all of the shrinkage out of a pair of Samurais.

dawei94 is correct, TTS means buying a tag size that matches your true waist measurement. Omega Man, in your example, you are sizing down 1, because you are buying a tag size that is 1 size smaller than your true waist measurement. The actual waist measurement of the jeans is irrelevant as far as TTS goes.

From a quick glance at the measurement charts, it appears that the 610 has a lower rise and a roomier thigh than the 710.
