The problem is that ties from makers like Kiton, Borrelli and Brioni can vary quite a bit, so it is hard to rate them. I can say, however, that Stefano Ricci ties are uniformly disgusting: too glossy, too thick, and too wide. They only go with Stefano Ricci clothes, and those are even
more disgusting.
I largely dislike Hermes ties, but they've put out some really nice, atypical stuff over the past year (I was tempted, but the prices were too high). Stll, the classic Hermes tie (with little hippos, carriages, or H's) is pretty terrible.
