Is it ok to remove your jacket indoors when dining if you are also wearing braces?

Just my two eurocents...

This is OK if you are an agricultural/animal husbandry worker.

Sorry, no. Jacket ought not come off at dinner or when otherwise seated. You may be conflating the notion that one unbuttons a single breasted jacket when seated (but not a D/B). The wearing of braces is irrelevant to when one should wear the jacket. And, if it is likely to be so hot that taking off the jacket is a serious consideration, wear linen.

unless it's at an outdoor cafe (or if you live in Alaska), I'd say off with the jacket

Keep the jacket on, but despite suspended socks, feel free to lose the trousers:

The OP, however was referencing rules of etiquette in the question. The rules, which many flout, do indicate that one should keep the jacket on. The rule developed at a time when (a) shirts were not laundered as frequently or as meticulously as is (hopefully) done these days and (b) air conditioning was not so prevalent and, therefore, sweat stained shirts were common. Today, the wearing of jacket helps cover up sweat stained and wrinkly shirts and otherwise provides a far more elegant look.

I cannot see what difference the braces make. I guess that you only should remove the jacket if the atmosphere is relaxed and informal, and then, what is wrong with exposing your braces?

i like wearing braces and contrast collars, but when i do i keep my jacket on. that being said, why worry about it really if you feel comfortable take your jacket off, no one is going to say anything in a world of people who wear dress shirts and slacks....if your lucky, as their "dress-up" clothes.

I say 'jacket on' unless you are dining on the trading floor.
