Maintaining Weight And Losing Gut - Page 3

In regards to eating, I've found a few things that were imperative in eating well: 1. For everything you plan to eat, check out the nutritional information on the back or online. Always pay attention to the fat and carbs, along with what type of carbs they are (sugars = bad, fiber = good). 2. Keep track of all of those nutrition numbers. There are online trackers that will also show you the percentage of fat/protein/carbs you're eating. 3. As much as possible, have food that you have chosen readily available. Personally, if I'm hungry and there is nothing in the house, I'm more likely to go out and get something quick, which most likely will be fatty and full of carbs. At work, I have a box of protein bars and will also bring in a bag of almonds from time to time. Good way to have a quick snack and keep you away from the dark side of the vending machine.

Yeah, don't drink milk. It's all sugar and no fiber. :/

Really, just don't have too many 'energy' calories (fat/carbs).

I stated my case badly. Not all carbs are bad. There are good carbs such as your wheat and grains. On the other hand, sugars are bad and something you need to avoid as much as possible. When you do eat carbs, stick to the good ones.

Hopefully that came out better.

plain old-world style yogurt > milk and most other dairy for health/dietary purposes.

You do realize all carbohydrates are long chains of sugars, right?

No clue. I read it in a magazine, and I believe everything I read in magazines, see on TV, and see on SF by default.

Edit: Google search tells me my spidey senses are good, it has live active cultures.
