Minimalistic gym wear for repetitive use - Page 2

ExOfficio Give-N-Go underwear. I can vouch for its durability and ease of care. Washes & dries quick. Resists odors for at least the first 20 washes or so.

I like under armour.

Thats what I do.......

Seconded. These were my go to for both football and track in high school. Still use these for workouts.

Nike Dri fit is also really good. Really, any cheaper brand with the same idea will do too.

very hard to do when you have a travel schedule to adhere to. Takes up luggage space when it is dry, reeeeeally takes up luggage space when it is wet and bunched up in a laundry bag.

I'm of the same view as those who recommend synthetics (drifit, climalite, under armour, etc.) and washing in the sink between uses. I'm also going to start packing small vials of Tide for this purpose.

Like everyone has suggested - synthetics but look for the newer generation of synthetics that come with antimicrobial formulas such as those lined with silver. Avoid the older type of synthetic materials as they tend to retain the stench very readily.

What time of day do you go to the gym? I go at night and wear the same pair of undies I did during the day. I don't sweat much, but my crotch does get a bit gross, especially when the owner of the gym decides its time to blast the heat. I could never use the same undies for two workouts.

Do you guys know what ringworm is? Always change your underwear after a workout. I wouldn't even wear the same shirt if you have already worked out in and and sweat in it. I wrestled in high school and middle school, so I know that when you don't wash shirts you worked out in, you get things such as ringworm. Also wearing shoes without socks and working out in them can lead to athletes foot right? If you have to change atleast one thing, change your damn underwear. You don't want ringworm on your nuts.

How about old cotton t-shirts you wouldn't normally wear out? I have tons of campaign t-shirts so I never have a shortage of shirts. I prefer using American Apparel, when a campaign uses them, but those heavier BaySide/Murina T's are okay too when I'm not doing cardio (unless they're oversized). Underarmour and the like are too clingy and look a bit... flamboyant. Cheap basketball shorts are okay. I have a few A&F sports shorts I bought at the outlet for $5 each. They're comfy and hold up very well. Nike ultra low-cut socks. Cross Trainers unless I'm running. Proper gloves and wrist straps.

+1 I wear whatever I have on... but I always wear fresh undies. It's kinda gross not too. There are people around you at the gym, they don't need to smell you.

Nike dri fit running shorts, light wool socks, Under Armor short boxers, UA or Nike loose fit sleeveless shirt all washed or rinsed after every use. As pointed out crotch rot or athletes foot isn't any fun not to mention "smelling like a rose" sucks too. Anyone remember the kid in high school who never washed his gym clothes? I would rather sniff a skunk's ass.

I do my workouts in these, they drying fast and don't smell for a long time, I wash them twice a month

When I was in Shanghai, I worer a 70/30 bamboo/cotton tee shirt that seemed to dry faster than everyone else's cotton tees, and it didn't smell. I washed it anyway, but if you have too, you could probably wear it again. Apparently, bamboo is naturally antibacterial...

I would recommend a dark, cotton t-shirt. Dark color so the sweat stains don't show and cotton because it does not smell as much as the synthetic and "technical" materials if you use it a couple of times before washing.

Google for travel underwear. There are many varieties that can be washed in a sink and dry within a few hours (certainly overnight), so you can hang them in a hotel bathroom and have them dry and ready the next day. It is the only way to travel - you can do an indefinitely long trip with 2 or 3 pairs of underwear.
