So, did any of you guys ever take Latin? Better yet, did any use use the Ecce Romani books? They're pretty much the shit and Uncle Titus is my favorite character by far.

Word up.

I definitely did that translation last week. Are you in high school? I'm in latin III and our teacher made us do twenty of those right in a row, it was absolutely horrible. edit: do they ever get out of the ditch?

I have to take two more semesters of Latin before I graduate. May the gods have mercy on my soul. Ecce Romani, lol.

As an Oxford Greatsman and Ph.D. in Roman history, I have studied a fair amount of Latin, as might reasonably be surmised. I also won the Latin prize at my prep school. Only a silly, careless mistake kept me from getting a perfect grade on the three-hour exam.

Shouldn't that be, "Cave, Sexte! Lupus aproprinquat!"?

Hmm, that's the line that's stuck in my head from ecce Romani. Isn't there a difference if its meant as a command to Sextus or if its just adressing him? I can't even remember the names of the cases. I may have to google it... I only got onto Ecce Romani book two, then had a gap of about 5 years before using Reading Latin at university. I wish I'd kept the textbooks to brush up, I'm sure there's something to work with buried deep down. Romanes eunt domus! Just googled - looks like it would be Sexte in the vocative/imperative, which seems the most fitting.
