I know Darren has made his cell # available for customers and prospective customers, did you try calling? I know its international, etc... but I'd imagine speaking with him over the phone would be the easiest way to get a hold of him.

Friendlyone can't possibly be "MG." He didn't say anything remotely inflammatory. On the other hand, I have my suspicions about "mitchellmurray," who posted in the thread on Frank Shattuck. http://66.170.193.77/cgi-bin/ib3/iko...=ST;f=1;t=9166

For what it's worth, I think that friendlyone has been very fair. He just highlighted the difficulties in dealing with out of town tailors. The only comment that might be construed as disparaging of Darren, if it is in fact untrue, was his complaint about the lack of communication.

It is a sad state of affairs when the moderator feels it is necessary to warn us that someone might be the dreaded Marc Grayson, simply because that someone (with 60+ posts?) posts a mildly critical summary of his experience with Mr. Beaman. What did Friendlyone do to earn this presumption of guilt--and I say presumption because the message appears to be "Don't listen to what Friendlyone says yet. He might be Grayson. Wait until I check into it." So now Friendlyone has to defend not what he said, but who he is. And for what? Friendlyone's post does not remotely resemble the posts of MG.

Let the Grayson witch hunt begin. Anyone could be Grayson -- EVEN YOU. Moderators, could you please check my IP ASAP -- I am worried that I might be Grayson.

Due to your region of residence (the NE) and first initial of your username, you are in the 90+% percentile for being 'Grayson'. Please contact the credit department immediately. Edit: I just noticed, the all-lowercase nature of your username puts you well into the high risk zone. Banning is imminent.

I just met Mr. Beaman at the Collection of Sartorial Excellence gathering, and was quite impressed. His analysis of the problems with the suit I was wearing (a Hemrajani) was both accurate and appropriately (i.e. non-hostilely) critical. His discussions of his own style(s) was honest and sensible. The oft-discussed one-button peak-lapel suit with double-breasted waistcoat was there, and was extremely beautiful. I was much impressed by Mr. Beaman's realistic discussion of why he displays such a suit: he acknowledged that it is a suit too stylized for most people to wear regularly, but also that it is the exact sort of "noticeable" suit that people will pay attention to when he displays it. I wasn't able to order anything from him, but I would be quite interested in doing so in the future. I'm sorry to hear of friendlyone's problems, and definitely look forward to Manton's description of his suit.

Friendlyone, I feel your pain. I won't go into detail about my Darren Beaman experience, as it has been vetted on AskAndy. Darren makes a wonderful first impression. You'll be lucky to get your money back. I'm working with AMEX to get mine. Be wary of any tailor who only has a cell phone and email, with no "brick and mortar" facility. Good luck.

I find it interesting that the only person supporting the claim is as well a new member. Anyone care to calculate the mathematical possibilities of that happening? Jon.

AHH. Even me? Now I'm afraid to look in the mirror. Jon.

Jon, Just for the record, I am not a new member. I have been on this site for years, always admiring your posts (and those of many others), but posting only from time to time. I had hoped to be able to contribute some discussion of my tailoring experiences, but...

Well, since it is impossible to tell how many of you are 'Grayson', but I am sure at least one is (mitchellmurray), I have to lock this thread and from now on will have to delete/lock threads warning about Darren. Ironically, because of your vendetta against him, Mr. Goldstein, he must now receive unprecedented protection on the forum, because we cannot assume that any posts against him are legitimate. Please, seek immediate psychiatric attention.
