In my cases it's always been something discussed ahead of time. Meaning my gf and I would "get the itch" and actually find someone for the purpose of being in a 3some.

In my experience the "let's find one of your girlfriends to join us" method is a bad idea - usually leads to issues later. It's always been easier/safer to find someone who's actually looking for a 3some.

I have been involved in a few. Alcohol was involved in each episode but never massive amounts...it just kinda happens. One time was with two bi-sexual girls who were attracted to eachother and probably used me for their lack of parts. As far as the straight girls, I think it helps if the girls are friends. It really is being in the right place at the right time
