WG, I figure that you are in a good position to move to sales, many of the people who have worked with me over the years have come from project managment. What i would suggest is to try to pick up some college courses (even from a community college) in sales and or marketing, on weekends and evenings. in parallel try to find a job in project management with a company that can promise you a growth path that could lead to sales. in my last two companies, I was relativly technologically weak, and supported myself with sales people who worked under me who had backgrounds in project management. several of these then when on to account management positions, or to other managment positions. try to leverage a relationship like this. being a sales man in the technical project world, whether software or communications or engineering projects, can be a great career.

What does being tanned have to do with sales?

She's a moron. I'd go with: "I may be too short, in your eyes, for a career in sales. However I'm not to short to fire your incompetent, stupid ass." (5'5") Or perhaps, "I'd rather wake up short every morning than stupid like you."
