It's Indiana.

Latest reports suggest that the hospital has some explaining to do about failing to report the shooting.

Morganthau will offer the minimum of 3 1/2, this case WILL go to trial and Burress WILL get convicted.

Does Burress lose his entire $35 million? If so, the magnitude of the f#$k up is astonishing.

Maybe metro gun control laws would change if Washington, Chicago, and New York couldn't get any good players

Hell. I'm gullible and I'll bite. Do all of you above really think he would get off scot free in the above states.

I'm in Houston, Tx. and while it is illegal to have a loaded handgun in a club with rare exceptions ( even with a license ). I agree he would be punished but not convicted of a felony let alone do 3 & 1/2 years in prison.

Many years ago I did live in NYC and even then there was the very strict "Sullivan Law". Do you guys in NYC think that even with Benjamin Bronfman he will get convicted and do the 3 & 1/2 years. Any chance of a deal? Maybe "Strict" probation and a very heavy fine or some crap. Would the DA and Bloomberg go for that or no chance do you think?

I don't think he would get off scot free, but you've got to admit that the gun culture in Houston is more relaxed than NYC.

Legal pistol ownership in Washington DC (until a recent Supreme Court decision), Chicago, and NYC is particularly onerous (they must to be registered . . . and the police department isn't required to allow registration ). Concealed carry permits also are as common as hens teeth.

In Houston he wouldn't have had to register it, and concealed carry permits must be issued if the applicant meets the requirements. Guns that Tank Johnson got in trouble for in Chicago are a non-issue in other states (Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Arizona, and probably Indiana, Ohio, and Pennslyvania among other NFL states). Sure, you probably can't have a concealed weapon in any of those states in places that serve alcohol (in da club with a bottle of bub) but your punishment isn't going to be career-ending either.

If I were an NFL team in a free-state I would definently push this point in contract negotiations. "Look, if you're going to be a dumbass, here its a misdemeanor and there you'll go to prison."

Is it true that in Oakland Al Davis won't allow a player to be drafted that doesn't own and carry a gun.

And during games his players carry Shivs in their socks.

In a couple of years he might be able to sign both Michael Vick and Burress.

Better than the players he has now.

They should all go play for the Ravens.
