Yes, but I'm sure Black Tea darkens it more than others, so switching it to other teas would be a good idea.

I agree with this 100%. I get my tea from here:

Excellent selection and great quality.

You better be careful about suddenly stopping either tea of coffee. When I was at Ulpan Akiva (Hebrew study center in Netanya, Israel), I once ran completely out of tea on the sabbath. I had the worst rebound headache ever. If you are going to cut down on caffeine consumption, do it slowly and have an NSAID like Motrin around. Currently I drink a lot of coffee in the morning. I brew it at home and have at least 2-3 cups before I go to work. I may get another latte at Starbucks or Peets in the late afternoon or evening. I also drink a lot of iced tea as I am from the South. I think that black tea actually stains my teeth more than the coffee does, but I bleach my teeth every year or so. For hot tea, I am currently enjoying Tazo Berryblossom White. It is a white tea with a hint of blueberry essence. It is great served either hot or cold mixed with lemonade over ice.

I think that overall, green tea is the healthiest choice. It has caffeine to give you energy, and it also has fat-fighting properties. Try and drink it as pure as possible (nix the sugar and milk).

Don't get too confused here. The different types of teas are only marginally different as far as caffeine and antioxidant content. You'd do best getting a variety, and settling on what you like best. You'll get more benefit from a tea you like that may or may not be the most healthy or caffinated since you'll be drinking more of it, as opposed to one you don't like so much that you are only forcing down because it is good for you. My personal favorite is Ti Guan Yin (Iron Goddess of Mercy) Oolong tea. I could drink it all day. Also, Red Bush aka Rooibos is NOT tea, it is a tisane. Not only does it contain no caffeine, it is a mild nerve relaxer and could put you to sleep or make you groggy (but it does have 2 to 4 times as many antioxidants as green tea). I love drinking rooibos before bed. The only carved in stone advice I can give you is NEVER buy bagged tea! It is the crap they sweep off the floor and sell to the U.S. while preparing the 'good' tea for other countries. A big reason tea has taken so long to catch on here, we get the lowest grade dust available while the rest of the world enjoys loose leaf tea.
