I guess I have no idea..

I think that the soles are channeled - the channel has just been worn away.

it looks like the RLPL from 10-15 years ago - I know that the older versions had leather heels.

RLPL shoe trees from Grapevine Hill on eBay. I saw 10/10.5 and 11/11.5

Can't comment on those, but here are my experiences with a pair of Italian-made Polo boots:

Just had to have them reheeled. Ridiculous.

Unknown maker. Setting aside the stylistic paradox that is a black stitched cap blucher, they are way overpriced imo. I have seen the RL Italian shoes (including the Stanton captoe, the monkstrap and the wholecut w/medallion that GVH is also selling) for $150-$200 at an outlet store. I tried on the wholecut and considered buying it. It's no EG but not a bad shoe (some have suggested made by Mantellassi but I doubt it). At $100 on eBay, it may worth it but not at the prices GVH is asking.

I'd have to agree, Italian made Polo mens shoes are just average quality, may be worth the 250.00, but they certainly are not worth the 895.00 retail that GVH is claiming

Retail is $550 and they are on sale for $279 on the RL website so you could effectively get them for less than with GVH, if you wanted to.

I would keep an eye out for the Polo Tellman (C&J) at GVH. Some of them are starting to show up at .99c starting bid prices.

Did anyone notice who won the auction? Think Lobb ice skates.

Thanks so much for the opinions, experience and feedback. I will obviously not be bidding...
