Send him a PM, auction seems for France only, but who knows?

Don't think so. Last time I fell into his trap and got an English made vintage A&F belt, it came out too small. No resale value, obviously.

RJ knows what's up.

A couple of thoughts on this. First, seller notes shipping only within France, but, as you've suggested, ask him/her about this. Second, the Weston Hunt Derby is one of the truly iconic and outstanding shoes available today, and if they will fit, and you can get them for anything under about $800, they will be a great purchase, as these are new. Current price is, IIRC, something on the order of $1300 from the Weston store in NYC. Third, and here is where the real risk is, in my opinion: be very, very careful about size. Weston sizing is unusual, and many people have had fit problems with them, misunderstanding the size. You would ideally try a pair on somewhere before buying this brand online. Failing that, get very detailed measurements from the seller, and then, even if all seems well, hold your breath until they arrive and you can satisfy yourself that they fit.

Wow - I really love this board. I have not tried on any Weston shoes and unfortunately no one near me carries them. I do wear a 7.5 F in Church's 100 (pre-Prada) and a 7.5 E in three different Lobb lasts (forget the numbers). Do Weston's run large, small, narrow or wide? Thanks for your feedback.

Won them ... $46 + shipping ($34) ... I'll see how they are. For a new pair of shoes that doesn't seem to be much of a risk ...

It is NOT the Hunt Derby, that most iconic of Weston shoes (called the "Chasse" by Weston), but rather the "Demi-Chasse," which does sell for considerably less than the much larger-scale and more heavily-constructed Chasse. What threw me were the soles; they are virtually identical to those on my pair of the Hunt Derby--down to the toe tap. However, this sole is also available on the Demi-Chasse, and Sky Valet's price of $580 is very good for that shoe (although they've only got size 8 and 11 left at that price in brown), and their regular price on it is $725. I've followed Weston shoes on Sky Valet's website and have never seen the big fella, the Hunt Derby, there. I don't know what Weston's NYC price is for the Demi-Chasse (and I've been advised that that of the full Chasse is now closer to $1700 than the $1300 I quoted earlier), but I'm guessing it would be over $1K. So...bottom line: if you can get this for signficantly less than Sky Valet's price of $580 (if you're an 8 or 11) and like the shoe--and it will fit--go for it! But again, let me stress, be very very careful re fit.

The question about whether Weston's tend to be larger than their stated size or smaller is a good one, and I don't know the answer. In my own experience (with the Hunt Derby and the Golf Oxford), the shoes ran larger than their stated size. However, I seem to recall others saying that it can go the other way too. If so, there's no lawful pattern operating here, and very precise measurements will be needed for an online purchase. Many would argue that it's not worth the risk unless the seller is completely open to a return if they don't fit.

A review of pictures from the JM Weston website seems to show that the pair of shoes on Ebay are the Demi-Chasse as well. Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge...
