I found a post where someone had inquired with C&J and had been told they were handgrade on the 337. http://www.styleforum.net/showthread...t=polo+redding

So RL has them made bench?

yeah, there have been quite a few debates on how to characterize the RL channelled soled shoes - I think I did a photo comparison a few years ago.

Anyway, I think those shoes are nice, but not $300 on ebay nice.

I hate it when they don't display the entire heel bottom to see the nail pattern. I'm sensitive to that after the whole Grenson episode.

yeah, i think i remember that post.

anyway, my perspective is flavored by personal experience - i managed to purchase that exact boot 5 or 6 years ago, for something like $200 or $225 from GVH, but ended up letting it go for a slight profit because it was not as comfortable as I would have liked. It also fitted me somewhat differently than my 337 last weymouth, but that may be been due to the differences inherent to a chelsea and a balmoral/wholecut.

here's the link to the post where i compared one of the rl polo's that were allegedly on the 337 last and an actual 337 last shoe:

Tramezza strap shoe in black, size 7.5(D?). Is this considered a monk strap? What is the proper name otherwise?
