I think these are grenson roses - notice the rose on the sole - masterpieces generally just say "made in england"

Are they roses? They actually look like the Paul Stuart logo on the bottom to me -- perhaps samples made for PS that didn't make it?

How are Grenson Roses considered, under bench made C&J? The logo on the back of a lot of Grensons REALLY irks me ... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=190200385743 Stephane Kelian Men's Black Moccasin (the woven version) I actually regret not having bought a pair 10-15 years ago. They went out of business a couple of years ago. Speed

Do you think that purchase might have saved them?

LOL Absolutely not, I just thought they where quite unique. Not a great loss, but just a afterthought. And I find it slightly sad that unique producers cant create their niche in our day and age. Speed .

The foot size is a bit of a curse...

We may have been talking about 2 different shoes - I'm talking about these:

the same seller also has spectators.

Anyway, the tan austerity brogues have a rose and the last half of grenson on the sole.
