EDIT: OMG, the Goyard shoe trunk went for almost 7 grand!

Saw that; had it on my watch list. Unbelievable, but someone here said it would go for many thousands...

OTOH, I snagged those vintage McAfee patent leathers for $100. Will report back. Hat tip to whoever posted them.

I'm in the market for a pair of white bucks, but don't want to go the J.Crew/Sperry route. I found this Ralph Lauren version on GVH's ebay store, but I'm wondering if anyone knows who makes them or how they fit.

I have these i believe in their dirty buck version. Don't know who makes them but they've held up pretty well. Not worth the $300 retail, but for under $100, they're good enough.

I would like an opinion on these shoes, listed as *new* on ebay...

*NEW*ALLEN EDMONDS DRYDEN MENS DRESS SHOES BLACK 10D

I sent the seller an email enquiring about the creases on the toes, and this is the reply I received:

these shoes have never been worn. they were displayed without having the proper inserts inside the shoes, therefor the shoes established creases(this is why I sell $300. shoes for $100.) these shoes have never been on a human foot, just in a window for merchandising. thanks

Is it possible that a shoe could get creases like these from being displayed in a window ?!!? I highly doubt it, as well as the heel being darkened (it appears) from wear.

Any comments?

Looks like used shoes to me. After having just gone through a bad experience on eBay I wouldn't purchase those shoes as new unless they could send me more pictures of the inside of the shoe and the soles. To me if a seller does not give a clear view of the soles, the shoes are not worth buying.

Insoles look worn to me. Outersoles look like they've been given that black treatment. And the creases are a major turn-off.

Those shoes are clearly worn. Look at the slanted creases on each of the shoes. In addition, look at the width of the shoe opening - it's huge!

Yeah, I'm gonna give those 10 pidals, where 1 pidal = 2 hours of wear on carpeted floors.

One thing I am confident that I have learned well since joining this forum is used shoes. Those are used shoes. Extensively used shoes. Forget the creases, the shine on the insole comes from having socks polish the leather as the shoes are worn. Stay far away from this seller, he is either a liar or an idiot.

Thanks for the confirmation. I had made up my mind about these shoes even before I posted, but wanted to make sure, and let others know.

Caveat emptor, I suppose....

The seller is clearly misleading people the "*new*" listing, and the answer to my question about the shoes condition. Pretty brutal.

^Send a report to ebay, it takes only a minute and sellers shouldn't be misleading in their auction titles like that. On another topic, ferragamo monks: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...:B:WNA:US:1123 Thoughts? Opinions? Vintage? Lavorazione Originale, Studio, neither? They don't look like Salernos.

Anyone who pays $80 for those deserves to be beaten with reeds.

nice 46R navy Borrelli suit with an 8 inch drop (looks like a customer abandoned it)
