1/2 size is the standard advice, but I've found the difference to be more like one width. I have 10D Barrie longwings and 10E AE Macneils. They are identical in length and very close in width. If one is wider than the other, I'd give the edge to the Barrie, but the difference is slight. That said, I've only one pair of each so usual caveats and YMMVs etc. apply.

Used Filson Satchel Brief Case that has some age to it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=011

I wonder how much it will go for, when the NIB one's sell for about $400-500 on ebay.

Ah, jeez. Apologies. I thought Bally was a quality shoemaker and thus would avoid using CGL.

They have two lines - their top line, the Bally scribe line, is fairly good and worth getting on discount. Some of the designs can be weird.

This looks to be their regular line.

Also, it doesn't help that those shoes have been particularly abused.

I think these are pretty handsome but have no idea if they're a good value:

sigh...I started the day with snipes on the alden plaza boots, the indies, the c&js and the westons. Only one of the snipes was actually executed as the prices were higher than my snipes and I managed to get outbid at the last minute on my only bid.

Didn't someone here vow to get the westons? Any luck?
