Perhaps the most bizarre offering I've ever seen from C&J:

http://cgi.ebay.com/715-CROCKETT-JON...QQcmdZViewItem

Patent wingtip pumps with possibly faux alligator accent. Quite the '60s/'70s chimera.

Those would look swank with a velvet suit though I don't like the alligator skin inserts.

Now we know what Don Magic Juan (not Jon) wore to his prom.

I have this better-than-Tramezza shoe in a 10.5, used good condition but with a crease across the toe of the right shoe. Any takers for 160 shipped? The auction ended at 214 exc shipping.

Those were mine. I sold them here for something silly like $25. Good to see the buyer may make some money, I guess. They are called Neptune, so I thought that perhaps they were turtle or something from the briny deep.

If it makes you feel any better the price you sold them for more accurately represents their value.

Their value is whatever someone else is willing to pay.

Well, he's far from making money yet... very far...

^^

For the record, I'm the seller of those C&J. chorse123 indeed did sell them to me for a song, knowing they were to go up for sale again; I actually suggested that Jamison should try putting them on eBay first. Then I gave it a few days to see if there surfaces a buyer who would make good use of them himself; in hindsight it didn't help that J's pictures and descriptions weren't very clear.

Now, as all eBay sellers, I would like my items garner high final prices, thus making some profit. But the main reason I wheel and deal in this case, as already communicated to Jamison before the sale, is that I hadn't had many opportunities to handle C&J shoes. I was also curious, due to the relative infrequency with which similar fares float around, how well these could do on eBay. This explains my decision to have the auction format as is.

Are you saying those worth half as much as your MacNeils?

BTW, I would've bit on those had I not bought similar shoes from Yoox last week. I did manage to sell 2 pair of McNeils last month for ~$60 each before S&H though, so you might want to try that route.
