I work in the city and most days walk close to three miles a day round trip getting to and from work. Soles get scraped up pretty fast. But here's a picture of the sole of a pair of AEs that I've worn, I don't know, maybe a dozen times (maybe less; more than 3 or 4, less than 20). The Rendenbach logo is still visible amid the scrapes.

I don't think that logo was ever on the shoes shown in the auction. Notice the stitch fraying on your shoes vs. the sellers....there barely is any and the area nearest the stitch is barely worn. I think his are stitched aloft as well, which makes me think they are somewhat older based on what I see on Ebay....perhaps the logo wasn't used back then? Interesting.

Is it the two drilled holes? I always thought that was a mark from the Nordy sales rack.

Are those drilled holes? My bad then. The seconds stamp is a tiny shoe-shape, usually inside a circle, which is what I took those marks for.

Help a Brutha brother out.

These very nice Santoni Thorpes are at $71 with about 3 & 1/2 hours to go:

They even include shoe trees.

Ebay auction here

And the seller is our own SF member Brian, known to one and all as "shoe". We all now how conscientious he is. This is obviously a very nice value.

Up to $76 with 1 Hr. 12 Min. left.

You're a brave man to close your auction at 1:00 CST on a Wednesday. I hope you get what you had hoped for.

remember these are USED.
at 70 it is decent for me, but ebay is always a risk!

i know, i should pay more attention to when i start auctions.

best times to start i would think would be saturday night. when everybody usually got paid on friday perhaps.

^ +1. I always get my auctions to close Sunday or Monday night. Most people are at home then.

These are a good fit for a size 10.5, would be tight for a 11. If the seller had the box it would have read 10/10.5. The second size is the US size. At least that's the way the sizing is on my box from sky valet.

Not bad Brian, sold for $100. The Santoni Thorpe is really a very nicely made, substantial, goodyear welted shoe. I have both black and the same brown that you sold. Very nice shoe, casually elegant.

I took a stab but came up short. I have several pairs of dark brown bluchers so I wasn't too aggresive....

$100+ is decent for this pair given what I've seen lately on Ebay. You might have gotten as much as $15 to $20 more on a late Sunday afternoon but then again you may not have!!
