That top photo reminds me of the cheap plastic models we got as kids, where the pieces would always have that border of extra plastic flashing left on them after being unpacked.

Another cool pair of Campanile wingtips in 43 in a spectator-like design with smooth calf and pebble grain.

This is a giveaway for AE shell cordovan!

They could easily sell for a BIN of $100-$150.

They wouldn't fit me, and I'm not a flipper.

They'll be gone by the morning.

How can you two tell from one average picture?

The seller has a feedback score of over 5000 with a 99.7 rating, and she says that the shoes are shell cordovan and quotes the right AE MSRP of $475.

The problem for someone that is interested is that they would have to buy them right now with the Bin, and then return them if they proved to not be shell cordovan.

Fine creases on the vamp, and the leather doesn't have the depth of shell.

In addition to what A.Harris said, I'll just add that it looks very much like the AE merlot burnished calf shoes I have.

But yeah, fine creases on the vamp, right by the tassels. No depth. And no broad ripples characteristic of used shell cordovan.

Creasing in the vamp, lack of large scale waving, rubber heels, and the thickness where the stitching is. I'm 99.9% certain these are calf.

Compare to a pair of shell on Ebay right now.
