Jeez, those look nice. And they'd probably fit you too, EL72! I'm guessing you know about Campanile, but I don't know much, if anything, about them. Who do they make for? Canali?

Campanile make nice shoes imo. They do make for Canali AFAIK, not sure who else. They're probably a solid mid-range Italian maker a notch below Mantellassi, Tramezza or high-end Santoni FAM. Most I have seen are blake-stitched, not welted and I have been seeing lots of weird designs lately. Retail is ~ 300 EUR (vs. $600-$700 for Canali) and I don't know many stores who carry them here under their own label. If you can find a nice style, they are usually worth the eBay prices.

I believe Campanile either used to, or still does, occupy a wide range on the quality scale. I've seen some mediocre shoes on Ebay and others like...well....these! Just a word to the wise that the name Campanile may not automatically mean high quality. Hopefully someone more knowledgable can either substantiate my impression or suggest that perhaps I just saw a number of well worn or hideously designed shoes.

The shoes they make for Canali all fit 0.5 - 1 size too big, i.e. I'm usually a 42.5 to 43, and need a size 42 for the Canali's

The Hunt Derby--just a great shoe. These look only very-lightly worn, and stated retail is not far off. The last I checked it was around $1300 in the NYC Weston store. But check size with seller very carefully, as Westons have a rep for being quirky re fit:

They would probably fit quite a few people on this forum.

I know it's iconic, but man do I find that shoe ugly.

Do you like the Dover? The appeal of clunky split toes are lost on me.

It's time I figured this out: How do you quote only part of a previous post and how do you quote multiple quotes from different people

For the former, hit quote and then delete the stuff you don't want to quote. For the latter, click multi q for each post you want to quote, then hit reply (or quote).

I only like the dover in navy or olive, in brown it looks like every other spilt toe on the market.

why buy this when you can buy the Weston 598 for less than $600 in an actual store?

Once you've hit "quote," you can do whatever you want to what's inside the [qoute] tags. Just leave the tags at both ends of the quote.

And as Doc said, just hit multi-q at the bottom of each post you want to quote, and when you get to the last one, just hit "quote." They'll all show up, even across pages.

I don't grok the hunt derby either. Looks big and bulbous to me, and the fact that the apron is hand-stitched, or whatever, fails to impress me.
